Best .45 ACP Suppressors, Ranked
.45 ACP is subsonic out of the box, so it’s one of the quietest rounds to suppress. The HUXWRX Flow 45M is the pick for most: light, flow-through and rated for every pistol caliber. Want to clean it yourself? Banish 45. Want short? Omega 45K.
Top picks
Why .45 ACP suppresses so well
- Standard 230 gr .45 ACP is already subsonic, so there’s no bullet crack. You hear the gun, not the round.
- It needs a .45-bore or bigger can. A 9mm or .40 can’s hole is too small for a .452 in bullet.
- Most 1911 and Glock .45 barrels are threaded .578x28. HK uses M16x1 left-hand, so match your booster to your thread.
- A .45 can also runs 9mm, .40 and 10mm, so it can cover every pistol you own.

How to pick
- Your host
- 1911s and Glocks have tilting barrels and need a booster piston to cycle. A .45 carbine runs direct-thread or a fixed spacer.
- Weight
- A .45 pistol is already heavy. A titanium can keeps the muzzle from feeling like a brick.
- Cleaning
- Lead and dirty .45 loads foul a can fast. Take-apart cans are easier to keep up with.
- Sights
- Add suppressor-height sights, or a red dot, so you can see over the can.

Questions
Is .45 ACP quiet suppressed?
Yes. Standard 230 gr loads are subsonic, so it’s one of the quietest pistol rounds you can suppress.
What thread is a 1911 barrel?
Most threaded 1911 and Glock .45 barrels are .578x28. HK uses M16x1 left-hand.
Can I use a 9mm suppressor on .45?
No. The .45 bullet is .452 in across, far wider than a 9mm can’s bore. Use a can rated for .45 ACP.
Do I still pay a $200 tax stamp?
No. The federal NFA tax on suppressors has been $0 since January 1, 2026. As of October 9, 2026, ATF doesn’t enforce Form 4 approval for suppressors, so a dealer sale runs on the normal Form 4473 and background check. State law still applies.
Can I buy one through Native Industries?
We don’t sell suppressors ourselves. We show you where to buy, online or from a licensed dealer near you, and the dealer handles the sale and the background check.
